About Me
Hello & welcome to my world of surface pattern design, art and illustration!
I'm Rebecca Johnstone, a surface pattern designer, illustrator, textile artist, writer and mother, with a first class honours degree in printed textiles from Heriot-Watt University in Galashiels, the Scottish Borders.
Based in rural Scotland, UK, I'm a dopamine-dresser, and a cold-water swimmer fuelled by tea. So much tea. And matcha.
A maximalist at heart, my designs are striking, spirited and confident, mixing bold colour and symmetry to create an eclectic, individual aesthetic.
I hand-draw all my motifs by hand, and use them for my art prints as well as for patterns available as fabric, wallpaper and home decor. You can view these in my Spoonflower Studio.
I design fun journals for documenting the seasons, New Beginnings, wild swims, and scrapbook papers and elements for both physical and digital use. Art is my heart and I love stationery and scrapbook supplies as art and junk-journaling are my paper-lover hobbies when I get a spare moment <3
