I’m Rebecca, a fledgling Surface Pattern Designer with a First Class honours degree in Textiles & Fashion Design Management specialising in Print, from Heriot-Watt University in Galashiels (formerly The Scottish College of Textiles), and recent alumni from Rachael Taylor’s ‘Make it in Design‘ e-course and Jessica Swift’s ‘Pattern Camp‘.
I call myself ‘Dainty Dora’ but I’m not especially dainty and my name’s not Dora…
I love the creative process of working to a theme, designing mood-boards and creating storyboards. Now I get to do that with my pattern design concepts, pairing my love of textiles, colour, sketching, watercolour and collage into my creations to produce an individual style unique to me.
My designs are striking, spirited and confident, often paired with digital and analogue photography resulting in a vibrant and varied portfolio.
Dream clients – yes I have a list! I’m open to collaborations and have my sights set on the big trade shows – Surtex and Printsource in New York, the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas…
It’s an exciting journey I’m on and I’d love to hear from you if you like what you see here and would like to work with me.
With inspiration and joy,
Dainty Dora x
